NASCAR Heat 2 is a racing video game by Monster Games and published by 704Games. It is the sequel to NASCAR Heat Evolution, and was released in North America on September 12, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows via Steam.[1] Kyle Busch is featured on the cover.[2] On June 11, 2017, it was confirmed that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be featured in the game for the first time since EA Sports' 2008 release, NASCAR 09. Truck and Xfinity stand-alone tracks, including Eldora Speedway and Gateway Motorsports Park are featured. All three series are playable online, and in career mode the player can race his or her way up through the ranks to conquer the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.

Gameplay

Career

This option gives players the ability to start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and work up towards the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The player can use their own car or use a driver on a team. In the beginning, users choose a driver from hot seat offers and progress up the ranks.

Split-Screen

This option gives players the ability to race against family or friends while sitting in the same room. This is the first NASCAR licensed Next Generation console game to have split-screen racing.

Championship

This option gives players the ability to run for the championship in one of the three series featured in the game. You can race the full season or just the playoffs. You can also pick a real driver or the player that you customize to race as.

Challenges

This option gives players the ability to complete challenges with objectives tied in, such as wreck avoidance or fuel saving. The game will ship with 29 challenges, one for each track, with more expected to be added as downloadable content.

Multiplayer

This option allows players to race online with friends or compete in leagues with up to 39 other drivers. Players can compete in either public or private lobbies.

Options

This tab is where players can view their age verification for the viewing of alcohol schemes. If players 21 and older select they are, they can race the beer sponsored cars such as the Miller Lite, Busch, Natural Ice, and Twisted Tea cars.

Drivers

NASCAR Heat 2 features drivers from all three of NASCAR's national series in the game (42 MENCS drivers, 43 NXS drivers, and 32 NCWTS drivers). However, there are some notable omissions, including Beard Motorsports with driver Brendan Gaughan in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, and all GMS Racing drivers in both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, excluding Justin Haley.The driver rosters for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series,[3]NASCAR Xfinity Series,[4] and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series [5] have been confirmed by 704Games. In a patch released in October, 704 added all remaining NASCAR Next drivers including Hailie Deeganand Chase Purdy.
